Description

During in this course, you will cover:

  • Recognise a range of tasks for which winches can be used
  • Understand the legislative requirements of winching operations
  • Recognise and understand safe working practices for winching
  • Understand working signals and be able to control an operation
  • Demonstrate different winching operations: straight line; offset and double-line pulls applicable to the type of winch being used

If successful in meeting the required standards assessed, you will be awarded a certificate of competence and a Lantra skills ID card for your chosen certificate option(s).

Course Specific Notes

You will need to bring:

  • A form of photo ID either valid driving licence or passport.
  • Non snag clothing suitable for all weather as you will be outside
  • Steel Toe Cap Boots or Chainsaw Boots
  • Work Gloves
  • Arborist Helmet, complete with full mesh face shield and visor also ear defenders conform to 31SNR rating

 
We recommend bringing your own winch as this will give the best possible experience, however we will provide a winch for the duration of the course.

Important Information:

Joining instructions will be sent around 7-14 days before the course starts and will contain full details of location, equipment etc. Please note that lunch is not provided.
