This course is for people who undertake management of rodent species in relation to pest control in domestic, agricultural and business settings. The training element of the course prepares candidates for the Level 2 Award in Rodent Management.

Description

Gain the knowledge required to successfully complete the Lantra Awards Level 2 Awards in Rodent Management.

The Campaign for Responsible Rodenticide Use (CRRU) code of best practice states that competence must be proved through the completion of a regulated qualification such as the Lantra Level 2 Award in Rodent Management.

This is a change from the original recommendation that training only approach was acceptable.

Our 1 day Rodent Management Course prepares candidates for the Level 2 Award in Rodent Management and covers the following areas:

·       Understanding the legislative requirements for rodent pest management

·       Understanding the reasons for control

·       Understanding Integrated Pest Management (IPM)

·       Understanding the biology and behaviour for a specific range of rodent pests

·       Understanding how to survey to assess the level of rodent infestation

·       Understanding how to apply an eradication campaign for the specific active rodent species

·       Understanding the control risk hierarchy for the control of rodent pests

·       Understand how to monitor on an ongoing basis to manage future rodent activity
