Description

Course objectives:

  • Understand the Stationary Work Positioning for Tree Climbing.
  • Identify a range of PPE appropriate for tree climbing.
  • Identify hazards and manage the associated risks.
  • Carry out visual tree inspections.
  • Carry out pre-use inspection of tree climbing equipment
  • Choose appropriate anchor points.
  • Use techniques for safe and effecient ascent and descent.
  • Establish safe and comfortable work positions.
  • Carry out SRWP rescue methods.

Pre requisites:

Level 2 Award in Accessing a Tree Using a Rope and Harness and Level 3 Award in Aerial Tree Rescue Operations

Please bring with you:


  • A form of photo ID either valid driving licence or passport.
  • Arborist Helmet, complete with full mesh face shield and visor also ear defenders conform to 31SNR rating and a 3 point chin strap.
  • Chainsaw Boots are preferred or sturdy reinforced climbing boots
  • Non snag Clothing suitable for all weather as you will be outside
  • Gloves – BS EN 381-7 We highly recommend Showa 310
  • Personal First Aid Kit
  • whistle
  • handsaw or knife with retractable blade
