Level 3 Award In Aerial Tree Rigging
Often when working on trees, free-fall techniques will not cut it, this is where aerial tree rigging comes into play. This advance course will show you how to remove sections of trees safely. This course is designed for experienced Chainsaw users with climbing backgrounds. Walk away from this course ready to develop your newfound skills in the field.

Description
During in this course, you will cover:
· Understand the legislation and safety guidelines associated with carrying out aerial tree rigging
· Select suitable access methods and work positioning techniques
· Identify component parts of a rigging system
· Understand the difference between rigging anchor point above and below load
· Select and correctly configure rigging equipment
· Correctly install and position a pull / tag line
· Understand how to correctly dispose of waste.

After succesfully completing the assessment element of this course you will receive a Level 3 Award In Aerial Tree Rigging
Before starting this course, you must have already qualifications in:
· Level 2 Chainsaw maintenance and cross-cutting
· Level 2 Felling and Processing Trees up to 380mm
· Level 2 Accessing a tree using a rope and harness
· Level 3 Aerial tree rescue operations
· Level 3 Cutting of trees with a chainsaw using free-fall techniques.
Is it recommended that you are an experienced user before starting this course.
Worth noting: As there are physical elements to our course, you'll need to have at least a minimum level of fitness

Course Specific Notes
You will need to bring:
- A form of photo ID either valid driving licence or passport.
- Arborist Helmet, complete with, chin strap, full mesh face shield or visor, and suitable ear defenders.
- Chainsaw Boots.
- Chainsaw trousers with a minimum of Class 1 protection and a minimum of Type C coverage.
- Non snag clothing suitable for all weather as you will be outside.
Gloves suitable for rope work, Showa 310 are highly recommended.
We recommend bringing your own Chainsaw, Maintenance Kit, Pruning Saw and Climbing equipment. This will give the best possible experience.
When bringing your own kit, you will need to show proof of a full and in date LOLER inspection of all equipment to be used.
Also please ensure the harness is fitted with a personal First Aid Kit, and you also have a handsaw or a knife with retractable blade.
Important Information:
Joining instructions will be sent around 7-14 days before the course starts and will contain full details of location, equipment and course timings.
