Description
During in this course, you will cover:
- Fell trees which have a diameter less than the effective cutting length of a guide bar (guide bar length not greater than 380mm/15”)
- Assess the trees to be felled for hazards and risks
- Take down hung-up trees to a safe and stable position
- Assess a leaning tree and the safest method of felling, make accurate felling cuts in the correct positions
- De-limb felled trees in a safe and methodical manner

Upon succesfully completing the assessment element of this course you will receive a Qualification with a Certificate and Skill Card.
Before starting this course, you must have already Acquired:
- Chainsaw maintenance
- Cross-cutting Timber using a Chainsaw

Worth noting: As there are physical elements to our course, you'll need to have at least a minimum level of fitness

Course Specific Notes
You will need to bring:
- A form of photo ID either valid driving licence or passport
- Non snag clothing suitable for all weather as you will be outside
- Chainsaw trousers with a minimum of Class 1 protection and a minimum of Type A coverage
- Arborist helmet complete with full mesh face shield and visor and ear defenders conforming to 31SNR rating
- Thin gloves for machine maintenance. Preferably a Nitrile Rubber Palm grip.
- Chainsaw gloves with a minimum of Class 0 protection
- Chainsaw boot
- Personal First Aid Kit
- Whistle
- We recommend bringing your own chainsaw and maintenance kit for the best possible experience but this is not essential.
Important Information:
Joining instructions will be sent around 7-14 days before the course starts and will contain full details of location, equipptment etc. Please note that lunch is not provided.
